Germany's Marie Sophie Hindermann Retires From Competitive Gymnastics

German gymnast Marie Sophie Hindermann announced her retirement after competing at the Stuttgart cup in her home country Germany.

Hindermann is nicknamed "German Khorkina" for being a tall gymnast as she stands at 5'7 ft. She was permitted to raise the uneven bars by 10 cm.

Hindermann competed at the 2007 Worlds where she placed fifth at the uneven bars final. She also competed at the Beijing Olympics. She did not compete at the London Olympics due to injury.

  1. She retired from international competition and the national team, but she will continue to compete domestically for her club in the Bundesliga club league.
