Italia's Vanessa Ferrari was denied a chance to make history when a tie breaker rule was not found in her favor. Ferrari who tied with Russia's Aliya Mustafina on floor exercise in London, lost the bronze medal due to having a lower execution score than her competitor Mustafina. Had Ferrari won the bronze medal, she would have been the first Italian artistic gymnast to win an Olympic medal.
Ferrari told La Gazzetta dello Sport that although she is not someone who usually cries when facing disappointment, placing fourth at the Olympics is perhaps the greatest sorrow of her life. Ferrari added that if the results were at the Worlds or Europeans, she would have won that medal but since the rules at the Olympics is different from those at Worlds and Europeans, she did not take the medal.
The 22 year old gymnast insisted that its not her fault and the judges are the ones who are in control.
The 2006 World champion who is now leaving with her boyfriend denied her pregnancy rumors "Not a chance, I am only 22 years old". Ferrari also hinted that she may continue competing another two years
Ferrari will be competing at two competitions next year, the first being held in the states and the second in Japan.

She so deserved that medal. I am huge fan of most of the Russians, and Aliya is one them. I just think that Vanessa deserved the bronze medal at the Olympics, since it will probably be her last Olympics. Vanessa had worked really hard to get a medal and she was definitely robbed.
